Every Ugandan citizen has the right to take part in government matters, either on their own or by choosing representatives, as long as they follow the law. You also have the right to peacefully join groups or organisations to try and change government policies. The government cannot stop you from being involved in politics or from peacefully protesting or campaigning. However, these rights must be exercised legally and peacefully, without violence or breaking the law.
