You cannot hold two full-time political jobs at the same time. For example, you cannot be a government minister and also a local council member, or serve in both a higher and a lower local government. This rule applies to positions like Minister, Member of Parliament, or local government council member – or any other political office Parliament decides. The government must ensure people do not double up on these roles.

In this Article, “political office” means the office of a Minister, a member of Parliament or a member of a local government council, or any other office prescribed by Parliament.
