(1)Where the officer who has served a summons is not present at the hearing of the case, and in any case where a summons issued by a court has been served outside the local limits of its jurisdiction, an affidavit purporting to be made before a magistrate that the summons has been served, and the original of the summons purporting to be endorsed in the manner provided in this Act, by the person to whom it was delivered or tendered or with whom it was left, shall be admissible in evidence; and the statements made in the affidavit shall be deemed to be correct unless the contrary is proved.
(2)If the original is not endorsed in the manner provided in this Act, the affidavit shall be admissible in evidence if the court is satisfied from the statements made in it that service of the summons has been effected in accordance with this Part.
(3)The affidavit mentioned in this section may be attached to the original of the summons and returned to the court.
