44.Form and contents of summons

(1)Every summons issued by a magistrate’s court under this Act shall be in writing, in duplicate, signed and sealed by the magistrate or by such other officer as the Chief Justice may direct.

(2)Every summons shall be directed to the person summoned and shall require him or her to appear at a time and place to be appointed in the summons before a court having jurisdiction to inquire into and deal with the complaint or charge.

(3)The summons shall state shortly the offence with which the person against whom the summons is issued, is charged.
