16.Disposal of person arrested by private person
(1)A private person who arrests any person without a warrant shall without unnecessary delay hand over the person so arrested to a police officer, or in the absence of a police officer shall take the person to the nearest police station.
(2)If there is reason to believe that the person arrested comes under section 10, a police officer shall re-arrest the person.
(3)If there is reason to believe that the person arrested has committed a non-cognisable offence, and the person arrested refuses on the demand of a police officer to give his or her name and residence, or gives a name or residence which the officer has reason to believe to be false, he or she shall be dealt with under section 13.
(4)If there is no sufficient reason to believe that the person arrested has committed any offence, he or she shall be released at once.
