Uganda shall be governed based on principles of national interest and common good enshrined in the national objectives and directive principles of state policy.

Parliament shall make relevant laws for purposes of giving full effect to <span class="underline-gradient ref" data-tippy-content data-ref="8A:1">clause (1)</span> of this Article.

Uganda will be governed by principles of national interest and the common good, with Parliament making laws to ensure these objectives are met.
