Your human rights are protected by a special government body called the Uganda Human Rights Commission. This Commission is led by a chairperson who must be a High Court judge or someone qualified to be one, along with at least three other members. The President appoints these members, but Parliament must approve them. All members must be people of good character and proven honesty. They serve for six years and can be reappointed.
